So, as to my big commission, all of my paper is cut and folded for the two books I’m making.  I know I’m making books in two distinct styles of mine, I just haven’t picked which pages are going to go with which style—this is mainly because one of them is going to be fabric-covered, and I don’t have fabric in mind yet.  I almost wish I had my big bag of scraps with me, because I think that would be fun… but at the same time, I don’t want this project to get away from me.

On the wedding front, whilst buying the last few papers for the commission, I also found most of the paper (hopefully!) I need to make my bouquet.  And it was all 50% off at Joanne’s.  Score.

Reading/writing… is non-existent at the moment. Which is going to make my Hollow Tree post today difficult, but I’ll think of something.

So I’ve found my paper. Well, half of it. I have to go back for the other half on Monday, it’s a coupons/what-I-can-afford thing.  I haven’t gotten a word of writing done today, as of yet.  This is too bad, as I have the opportunity of breaking 35K quite soon (I’m 800 words away!) but I’ve just felt so drained today.  Yesterday still hasn’t washed off of me yet, despite my attempts to make it do so.  I just feel the pressure of time start to close in over my head.  This isn’t a bad thing by any means, I just wonder if I’ve gotten as much done in my time here in California as I could have.  And because I’m half Japanese, and perfectionism is in my blood, I know that I haven’t.  I need to learn how to cut myself some slack, and most of the time I’m pretty good at it, but when deadlines start facing me, I just want to go back in time two weeks and slap myself.

Bumpy day.

I hate the days where I have to run errands and don’t end up being able to get half of what I need accomplished done.  I have a really fantastic bookbinding commission that I’ve just found out about, an honest-to-goodness once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but I don’t have a lot of the materials that I need for it on hand.  I wasn’t able to pick much of anything up, but I was able to source out pricing, at least, which helped a lot.

I really am excited about this commission, though.  It’s a big opportunity for my shop, and for myself as an artist.  It feels very validating, especially after a very slow past few months on Etsy.
